Our experience includes extensive involvement with assisted living, skilled nursing and independent living facilities. Housing for the elderly has many special requirements, especially for those facilities with Alzheimers patients. Careful attention must be paid to use of non-toxic plants and provision of safe yet stimulating outdoor environments. Spaces for socialization, recreation and community interaction are other vital components of successfully designed group living facilities
